Admission to the tournaments
The International Chess Festival includes the following tournaments:
- Open A, for all players with rating FIDE < 2351, and players without rating FIDE but wih national rating less than 2351 and greater than 1850;
- Open B, reserved for players with rating FIDE or national under 1900.
- Open C, reserved for players with national rating under 1500.
The admission of the FIDE players in a given tournament is done considering their rating published the 1th September 2010.
Both Italian and foreign players can take part at the tournament. The foreign players who are not in the FIDE list have to exhibit a document of their chess federation attesting their game strenght otherwise the Tournament Director at his own discretionality will assign him a rating to be used both for pairing purpose and prize distributions.
The tournaments are valid for variation of FIDE Elo.
System of play
Tournament A: 9 Rounds in 7 days, Swiss System, 90 minutes for 40 moves, + 30 minutes to finish with 30 seconds bonus per move.
Tournament B: 8 Rounds in 7 days, Swiss System, 90 minutes for 40 moves, + 30 minutes to finish with 30 seconds bonus per move.
Tournament C: 8 Rounds in 7 days, Swiss System, 2 hours quick play finish.
The Organisation reserves itself the right to adopt the following accelerated pairing systems in case of high number of partecipants: two groups, A e B, two accelerated rounds with 1 fictitious point for players in group A.
Any player who arrives at the chessboard more than one hour after the scheduled start of the session shall lose the game.
A half point BYE is it possible on request only at round 1.
The decision of the referee is unappealable.
Tie Break
1) Average Rating Opponent,
2) Bucholz (total) FIDE,
3) Bucholz (cut 1) FIDE.

Registration fee
Open A: 50 €; under 18, over 60 e women 35 €.
Open B: 45 €; NC, under 18, over 60 e women 30 €.
Open C: 25 €; under 18 15 €.
Required pre-registration by email, phone or registration form within 3 september 2009 (please notify your name, rating, and tournament).
Other will be accepted subordinated to the availability of room and material and charged of supplementary 10 €. The foreigner players will pay the registration fee at the check-in.
Remark
For what is not considered in this regulation-notice are valid the norms of the FIDE International Regulations and the FSI Technical Regulations in force during the tournaments.
The organisation reserves itself the right to introduce changes that could be useful for the success of the chess festival or in case of uncontrollable events.
In the playing hall: smoking is not allowed and mobile phones must be switched off. It's strictly forbidden to bring palmtop computers into the playing area.
The registration to the tournament involves the total and unconditioned acceptance of the rules of this notice.
